Who am i?
My name is Alejandro Rodríguez Fuentes, and I am a Systems Engineering student at Universidad Fidélitas in Costa Rica. I am interested in software development, web technologies, automation, and open-source collaboration.
This website documents my participation in the WPCredits program and my first experience contributing to the global WordPress community.
Introduction
I created this portfolio to document my learning process, the challenges I encountered, and the contributions I made through WordPress Polyglots. My main contribution area was the translation of WordPress strings into Spanish for Costa Rica.
Every translation contributed represents a small contribution that allows more people to use WordPress in their own language.
My Contribution to the WordPress Ecosystem
For my WPCredits project, I selected WordPress Polyglots and contributed to the Spanish (Costa Rica) localization project.
Through translate.wordpress.org, I suggested more than 240 strings related to the WordPress interface, block editor, system notifications, accessibility features, media tools, and administrative functions.
This experience helped me understand the importance of terminology, consistency, context, and careful review in software localization.
